Synaptop Updates: your Synaptop, your questions

In light of recent increase in user volume, we have been experiencing some technical difficulties. You told us what was bugging you and we have looked into it. Thank you for helping us make Synaptop even more collaborative and bug-free. Here are responses to some of the most common user inquiries.

  • Trouble with locating widgets?

A: Widgets can be added and removed in the Widgets section of Synapstore.

  • Want to chat without video while watching movies?

A:  Start a video chat and click on the camera button on the video chat window. This replaces your video with your avatar.

  • Mac’s webcam doesn’t let you “Allow” the cam’s use on synaptop?

A: Sounds like a problem with Adobe Flash. You might want to update it to the latest version, and if that doesn’t work, we suggest to re-install it.

  • New Account button is not working?

A: New account button is now fixed.

  • How do I disconnect Facebook from Synaptop?

A: Disconnect button is under Account Settings->Apps on Facebook. Simply remove Synaptop from the list.

Synaptop team will be in Austin next Monday (March 11th) to showcase Synaptop apps and tools for artists and musicians.

Artists can use Synaptop to collaborate in real time with their bandmates and other artists remotely. Users can watch videos together, listen to music together, and edit their work in real time!

Christmas is the time to be with family and friends. Spend time with loved ones on Synaptop!

Christmas is around the corner and everyone is making plans to spend quality time with their loved ones. But if your family is anything like mine (big, loud and spread across a few continents) you know that it’s often hard to gather everyone in one place for a proper family celebration. Of course, you can send cards and gifts in the mail (and stress about them arriving in the first week of January), write emails or text, or even phone.

Unfortunately, none of those mediums will allow you to really spend time with your family and friends that are far away. Activities like watching a movie together, playing a game, drawing together or listening to music while simultaneously interacting are difficult long distance.
